Beginning today, Owens Corning is holding the “Handy Homeowners” contest, asking consumers to show how they handle everyday household tasks in a video contest spoofing its new EcoTouchTM Insulation television commercial, which features a well-intentioned but less-than-handy homeowner who struggles to complete routine home improvement tasks. Contestants are encouraged to create parody videos of the new Owens Corning “EcoTouchTM Insulation DIY” television spot for a chance to win a $1000 Home Depot gift card and other prizes.

A panel of judges will rate each entry and consumers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video online December 12-18 at http://www.youtube.com/owenscorning.  Winners will be selected based on a number of criteria, including creativity and community support throughout the online voting period.
